COLONIAL DISTRICT
ADMINISTRATION

Like the more than six dozen Scouting units that lie within its boundaries, the Colonial District operatres largely through the volunteer efforts of individuals dedicated to serving youth in the city of Alexandria and eastern Fairfax County through the delivery of a high-quality Scouting program.  Unit leaders in any capacity and others sharing that goal are invited to participate in this effort in some or all of the following settings:

 

ROUNDTABLES

Roundtables for both Cub Scout and Boy Scout adult leaders meet at 8:00* on the second Wednesday evening each month (except for July).  The roundtables are held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 8300 Fort Hunt Road (at the corner of Fort Hunt Road and Collingwood Road).

*Although the formal sessions begin at 8:00 p.m., Scouters generally start gathering about 7:30 to gather papers and chat with colleagues.

Following are dates for Colonial District Roundtables during 1999:

DISTRICT COMITTEE MEETINGS

The Colonial District Committee consists of all Chartered Organization Representatives of all Scouting units in the district as well as a few dozen Members-at-Large.   District Committee meetings are open to all interested individuals. 

Colonial District Committee meetings are held at First Christian Church at 2723 King Street (one block northwest of the corner of King St. and Janney's Lane and 0.7 miles northwest of the George Washington National Masonic Memorial Road on the west side of Old Town Alexandria.(at the corner of Fort Hunt Road and Collingwood Road).  The committee meets monthly, usually on the fourth Wednesday of each month, although adjustments sometimes are made to accommodate holidays.   Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.
