George and Martha Washington's
Tomb at Mount Vernon

In his will, George Washington specified that his body would be buried
at Mount Vernon. The tomb where his remains and those
of his wife, Martha, now reside was built in 1831.

A special Scout Salute to George Washington on the afternoon
of Saturday, November 6, 1999, will enable Scouts participating
in the NCAC Mount Vernon encampment to place personal
mementos honoring Washington alongside those sent by
Scouts from throughout the nation. |
