Parking: Parking at the Fort Belvoir Scout Campground is a
classic good news-bad news situation. The good news is that there's plenty of spaces
nearby. A strong of spaces line the northern side of Sibert Road, and you can also
park in the northwestern part of the PX/Commissary lot. Those camping in the areas
accessible from the drive at the eastern end of Sibert Road usually can use the lot at the
end of this drive. The bad news is that, despite this ample suply, some people still
insist on creating their own spaces, parking on the road shoulder along Stonewall Jackson
or Sibert roads or elsewhere. These folks often discover to their chagrin the Fort
Belvoir's MPs can be quite aggressive in their application of parking regulations, and
although the fines ultimately may help reduce the National Debt, they still have a
negative impact on the vehicle-owner's personal cash flow. So obey the rules, and
park only where parking is permitted! |
